South Africa is great for birding. From the Southwestern tip (Cape peninsula) to the Northeast corner (Kruger Park), the country contains over 900 bird species (over half of which are found in Kruger Park). On a rainy afternoon drive in the Cape area, we spotted 58 species. Kruger Park contains a great selection of raptors, including the beautiful Bateleur.
